So imperfect it’s perfect.

[thanks, rob!]

Even though we’ve done a lot of shitty things as humans, I’m really happy that we also do stuff like this.

So last weekend, my friends, Hannah and Zarah, and I decided to go on an adventure to Jenny Lou’s. In case you were unaware (and I’m assuming you were, since most people who read this blog are not in China and therefore do not need to go to expensive import stores to find cheese) Jenny Lou’s is an import store with a few different branches in Beijing.

So, we hopped on the subway and headed out to Sanlitunr to find us a Jenny Lou’s. BUT. Before we made it to Jenny Lou’s, we found a Dairy Queen, so of course we had to check that out. And it was delicious. Zarah got the green tea blizzard with m&ms and Hannah and I decided to be boring Americans and just split a cookies and cream blizzard. Both were delicious, so next time you’re in China, I’d recommend dropping by (and go for green tea; it’s particularly awesome).

Then off to Jenny Lou’s, where I got some cheese. Moral of that story, I’m now eating cheese grits in China. Almost 40kuai for a 7oz package of cheddar and I have no regrets.

Afterward, we met up with some other classmates at the silk market and bargained our way into new purses and foul weather gear. Therefore, I now have a “Dolce & Gabbana” purse and a “Columbia” jacket, along with a collared shirt with a tiger in a bowtie on it (yes, it’s awesome).
